OneKey KeyTag

Made of aircraft-grade titanium alloy.

The OneKey KeyTag is a titanium cryptocurrency seed phrase backup made from aerospace-grade TC4 titanium alloy. It is rustproof, waterproof, acid-resistant, shock-resistant, and fire-resistant with a melting point of up to 1,668°C, offering extreme durability for protecting your recovery phrase.

Description

OneKey KeyTag is an ultra-compact titanium seed phrase backup kit made from aerospace-grade TC4 titanium alloy. At just 14g and 1/4 the size of a credit card, it's one of the smallest and most durable recovery phrase backups available.

Aerospace-Grade Construction

  • TC4 Titanium Alloy — The same material used in aerospace engineering, offering exceptional strength-to-weight ratio.
  • Melting Point of 1668°C (3034°F) — Seven times that of tin and 2.5 times that of aluminum, resistant to extreme temperatures.
  • Rustproof, Waterproof, Acid-Resistant — Immune to corrosion and chemical damage.
  • Shock-Resistant & Impact-Proof — Designed to survive physical trauma.

Capacity & Design

  • Up to 24 Recovery Words + 2 Passphrases — Uses the BIP39 word numbering system (0–2047) instead of letters, allowing compact numeric encoding.
  • Ultra-Compact — Only 14g, easily fits on a keychain or in a pocket.
  • Pack of Two — Each KeyTag kit includes two identical backup plates for distributed storage.

How It Works

Instead of stamping letters, KeyTag uses numbers to represent each word from the BIP39 wordlist (each of the 2,048 words has a unique number). This allows for a much smaller form factor while maintaining full compatibility with all BIP39 wallets.

Compatibility

Fully compatible with OneKey hardware wallets and all BIP39-compliant wallets including Ledger, Trezor, and MetaMask.

Highlights

Pros

  • Ultra-compact TC4 titanium alloy construction at just 14g — one of the smallest seed backup solutions available.
  • Uses BIP39 word numbering (0–2047) instead of letters, enabling a compact numeric encoding design.
  • Melting point of 1668°C — seven times that of tin and 2.5 times aluminum — extreme fire resistance.
  • Comes as a pack of two identical backup plates for distributed storage.

Cons

  • No protective outer case included — the exposed tiles could potentially be damaged or lost.
  • Small tile size and numbering system can be challenging to work with for users with visual or dexterity limitations.
  • Requires lookup of BIP39 word numbers — less intuitive than letter-based systems for beginners.
